Event Details: Waterbird Public Awareness Survey

Gulf Coast Bird Observatory, in cooperation with the American Bird Conservancy, and the Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program, does public outreach involving colonial waterbirds. To that end, they are working on a Waterbird Public Awareness Survey to assess the public's knowledge of colonial waterbirds by interviewing boaters at boat ramps. The survey will be carried out by volunteers stationed at local boat ramps.

GCBO has scheduled a survey for Friday and Saturday, September 16 and 17 from 7:30 am to 11:30 am. Volunteers are needed to conduct these surveys! Volunteers are needed either day, or both days. Each volunteer will be provided with survey forms, cold drinks and snacks, and materials provided by American Bird Conservancy.
