Adopt-A-Highway Trash Pickup
Sat Jun 20 - 8:00 a.m.
Meet at Churchill Bridge Boat Ramp
FOR San Bernard is asking for help with the
Adopt-A-Highway trash pickup
on the roadsides located a mile before and a mile after the
FM 2611 Churchill Bridge.
Plastic and styrofoam trash items enter the river unintentionally as
they are washed down from FM 2611 during a heavy rainstorm. Wear a hat,
gloves, sunscreen and
mosquitoes repellent. Strong shoes or boots are a good idea. FOR San
Bernard and TXDOT supply the rest. Please let Adopt-a-Highway Chairman Brian know you’re volunteering at bdj1950@Hotmail.com.

Just upriver from the Churchill Bridge boat ramp, five discarded pieces
of trash –– two styrofoam cups, one glass beer bottle, one plastic
drink container and
one aluminum beer can will eventually wash into the river during the
next rain and wreak havoc on fish and other wildlife and the people who
eat the fish.
