Who has to take a Boater Education Course?
To operate a vessel alone in Texas, a boater must be 13 years of age (born after Sep 1, 1993) and have completed a Texas Boater Education course to operate a vessel of more than 15 horsepower, a windblown vessel over 14 feet in length or a personal watercraft (jet ski).
The FOR San Bernard Environmental Committee is hosting a one-day Boater Education course and a no fault boat inspection at the FOR Community Center on the San Bernard River. This the first of their 2016 series of public education programs.
