SETMA-Meeting January 23, 2017

Good afternoon everyone,

Let’s go on a cruise together. Tourquoise-colored, crystal-clear waters; adult beverages with little paper parasols; all-you-can eat buffets; relaxing massages on island beaches. I could go on and on, but the ship board experience that I want to tell you about is really not that kind of cruise. In fact, this ship sits stationary in her muddy Ship Channel berth at the San Jacinto State Historic Site and hasn’t moved for decades. The Battleship TEXAS (BB-35) doesn’t need to go anywhere to fascinate us with her sheer size, magnificant constuction and years of active duty history. Just stand on the banks of the Ship Channel and be awed by the only remaining battleship that saw action in both world wars.

We’ve been invited by the Battleship staff (Stephanie, Sarah and Sarah) to visit the 100+ year old warship. No standing on the banks for us!  Please mark Monday, January 23, 2017 on your calendar as the next SETMA meeting to be held on the Battleship TEXAS.

Make her a happy treasurer.
